A Mid Summer Update

I definitely thought I'd find myself checking into this space before now! But the summer has been full and face to face people and things have been my priority for the most part. However, I've got a bit of free time right now so I thought I'd give you a little recap of the past couple of months! trading platform philippines

We are definitely moved in and settled... except for that darn spare room (though visitors next weekend should fix that pretty quick). The new place is definitely home and we're really enjoying being back in our hometown - despite the fog, we don't miss the bugs and heat of last summer!

I became a Godmother in June! David Francis is pretty much the cutest thing ever and I'm loving Godmama status! I'm getting lots of cuddles and visits in. best trading platform in the philippines

We took another step in our journey to become parents ourselves and met with a NaPro doctor in Toronto a few weeks ago - we have some answers and we're starting some treatments so our hopes are high for good news soon! We also got to enjoy a little vacation and do some sightseeing while in Toronto which was really fun!

In more materialist news... I'm in love with a robot. His name is Roomba and he's great: he does things my husband does not. Seriously, best decision EVER; our house has never been so clean and not having to worry about vacuuming as often is a huge load off my mind and plate. Also in love with Jamberry Nails - they are the answer to my clumsy inability paint my nails.  trading platforms

Work has been absolutely nuts the past few weeks and it's finally starting to settle down thankfully. There are some changes coming around the office which make me a bit nervous but I'm hoping it'll all be for the best!

The rest of the summer is looking to be just as jam packed at the first couple of months: David's baptism is in a couple weeks, we're planning a few day trips and hopefully a weekend away with some friends. We've got a few things on the go that I'm hoping to tell you about in a few months as well: nothing too major, just a few little projects to keep us busy!

While I've been off relaxing, a good many bloggers have been pounding out some great posts so let's finish things off with a few of my favourites of late:

Four Reasons I'm Not Boycotting The Forty Companies On That List @ Catholic All Year

How To Read "Go Set A Watchman" @ Modern Mrs. Darcy

The Thing I Wish People Would Stop Telling Me @ Team Whittaker (Poor Kathryn!!)

"Love Wins", they Say @ Mama Needs Coffee

I'm signing off, we'll talk soon!

A Blogging Vacation

On Vacation

I've decided to take the summer off blogging. We're into a new season of our lives and I want to savour every moment of it. I promise to check in with anything big and exciting or maybe boring and mundane if the urge strikes me but for the most part, I'm going to enjoy the summer with family and friends and I'll be back in September!

I'll still be around a bit on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest if you should start to feel deprived!

Have a lovely summer folks!

All Natural Facial Care

I was really spoiled when I was younger: I had really nice skin. Puberty and adolescence did very little damage to my skin. It was clear, pale.. but clear. I didn't need to wear cover-up or blush or use moisturizer or special cleansers: water did the trick.

And then I turned 20 and I began to pay for the beautiful skin of my teenage years. And close to 10 years later, I'm still fighting regular breakouts, clogged pores and general icky-ness.

May 2015 Adopt-A-Blogger

May 2015 Adopt-A-Blogger

I got an email from Conceiving Hope on CD1 (first day of a new menstrual cycle): the painful day that comes around much too often. The day that leaves me emotional, frustrated and a total pain to live with unfortunately. This time was particularly difficult for some reason. Maybe because it meant I wouldn't be a mother this Mother's Day or a mother by my 28th birthday also in May and likely still childless by our second wedding anniversary. Maybe it was because with Joel finally finished school, both of us in secure jobs and finally feeling like we are settling down, a pregnancy would be just make things perfect right now. And it's also likely because I wasn't feel well last week and had started to do that thing I should know better than to do: pregnancy symptom spot. Regardless of why, this month was hard so the email that I had been selected as the May Adopt-A-Blogger was such an honor and such good timing for my life right now.

Catholic Infertility Resources

Catholic Infertility Resources

Last year for NFP Awareness week I posted a list of NFP Resources, y’all seemed to really like it so I thought I would do the same for Infertility. Below is a list of blogs, church documents, books and fertility centers dealing with the many forms of infertility. If you have other resources to suggest, please do and I hope these can be of help to anyone in need.

Infertility Awareness Week

Infertility Awareness Week

Last year, Infertility Awareness Week* came and went without my knowledge. It’s an unfortunate thing that you don’t realize the pain of infertility until you experience it. This year, I’m keenly aware that we are in the depths of infertility. It’s still new and it’s still a very raw pain. To be honest, I’m not sure my husband and I have actually used the word “infertile” in our conversations. To say it out loud to one another would be to acknowledge we both know what we’re dealing with and somehow remaining blissfully ignorant seems safer.

What I Wore Sunday (Vol. 15)

What I Wore Sunday (Vol. 15)

Somehow I managed to miss posting any What I Wore Sumday photos since before Christmas! So sorry to keep my impeccable style away from you!

We had a quiet weekend: Joel wrote his last exam and he's only 12 hours away from being completely finished his degree. While he's finishing up his projects I've been bumming around packing and binge watching Frasier and Gilmore Girls. I've done much better at the watching than the packing that's for sure. You don't realize how much stuff you have until you start trying to pack it up and move it all!
